Symposium 2021

The natural path to net zero emissions

Symposium 2021

Overview

From 14 to 18 June 2021, the annual key event for the refrigeration and air conditioning industry will take place: the eurammon Symposium. Due to the current Corona situation, but also due to the great success in 2020, the symposium will again be held in digital form.

The natural path to net-zero emissions

This year, the 2021 symposium will feature online lectures and panel discussions focusing on questions about the natural path to net-zero emissions. After all, energy consumption levels for refrigeration and air-conditioning are expected to double by 2030.[1] The core issue to be addressed by the symposium is how efficient, climate-friendly cooling can support the energy sector's transition to net-zero emissions.

"Last year, over the course of six days, around 500 participants – politicians, international organisations, operators, planners, plant engineers – and 15 experts took part virtually in the first digital edition of the eurammon Symposium, more individuals than ever before. Of course, this was also due to the digital format, which enabled easy participation without the complications and expense of travel. With the Corona pandemic still on our minds, we are again pleased to be hosting a digital Symposium with as many participants as possible," says Rob Lamb of Star Refrigeration Ltd., chairman of the Steering Committee of eurammon e.V.

Efficient refrigeration, air conditioning and RACHP trainings

International experts will be discussing how natural refrigerants can help meet increased environmental demands. The Symposium will also address important issues such as how to reduce energy with efficient refrigeration/air-conditioning technology, training in the field of natural refrigerants and RACHP, cooling and heating for food and beverage production, as well as topics on all facets of district cooling/heating  – in some cases using specific case studies.

"Top-class speakers have already agreed to come. For example, Jelle Wagemans from Evapco Europe BVBA will deal with the topic of ice storage in food production and office buildings and present specific solutions. Tine Frederiksen, Danfoss A/S, will be presenting "Energy, data monitoring and control in supermarkets. These two and other exciting experts will be joining us in taking a look at the challenges ahead and the solutions that already exist," Lamb explains. In hosting this event featuring the selected speakers, eurammon e.V. intends to convey a holistic view of net-zero emissions and with this year's Symposium again offer an exciting platform for discussion and exchange.
