The Australian Experiment In Fluorocarbon Refrigerant Management and Reduction

As an incentive to advance the use of natural refrigerants, the Australian government set new regulations for the use of fluorocarbon refrigerants. From various ways to promote eco-friendly refrigerants, the government chose the hard line: direct financial penalties for those operators and consumers who still make use of fluorocarbons. According to the new tax model, they must pay for every ton of synthetic greenhouse gases in an effort to convince them to change over to an environmentally friendly refrigerant alternative.
