eurammon Student's Day 2026

On 22 April 2026, eurammon held its annual Student’s Day at Hogeschool UCLL in Belgium, bringing together students and industry experts in industrial refrigeration. The event featured a comprehensive programme combining technical presentations with visits to UCLL’s laboratories at the Houthalen and Diepenbeek campuses, as well as a site visit to EVAPCO Europe. The programme provided practical insights into cooling solutions with natural refrigerants, highlighting diverse applications and career opportunities within the sector.
The day opened with a welcome from Floor Ummels (UCLL) and Rob Vandenboer (eurammon e.V.), followed by a series of expert presentations from eurammon member companies. Topics ranged from industrial cooling with natural refrigerants and advanced refrigeration system design to the role of lubricants and the use of plate heat exchangers. The sessions provided a concise overview of current developments while illustrating real-world challenges and industry expectations.
Guided tours of the refrigeration laboratories at UCLL’s Houthalen and Diepenbeek campuses gave participants valuable insights into the training programmes for bachelor’s and master’s students.
In the afternoon, participants visited EVAPCO Europe in Tongeren, where further expert presentations covered compressors for natural refrigerant applications as well as industrial cooling and condensing systems. The subsequent factory tour offered an in-depth look at the manufacturing processes of EVAPCO’s products.
eurammon extends its sincere thanks to Hogeschool UCLL for hosting the event, to all participating students for their interest and to EVAPCO Europe for the insightful site visit, as well as to all speakers from its member companies for their valuable technical contributions linking theory with practice in industrial refrigeration.
The Student’s Day once again proved to be a successful platform for exchange between students and industry representatives, fostering dialogue, sharing the latest developments, and inspiring the next generation of professionals in natural refrigeration.
